Cape Cod Academy welcomes the following faculty members: Mary Agostinelli - Algebra II Honors & Finite Math, Doug Wilcock-Calculus and Stats, Diane Jones - Spanish, Richard Colby - Learning Specialist, Tommy Burgess - Latin, and Wendy Nelson - Consulting School Psychologist. Mr. Colby and Mr. Burgess are covering for two of our faculty members while they are on family leave.

A group of CCA students experience life in France during a week long home stay program. The trip was initially scheduled for April break but was postponed due to the volcanic eruption in Iceland.

CCA Faculty Spotlight: Gretchen Romey-Tanzer

Massachusetts State House Show

A Group of 26 painters and weavers from Cape Cod are featured at the State House in Boston as part of a traveling exhibit. The show will be on display from July 19th – 30th, 2010. The theme of this collaboration between painters and weavers celebrates the 100th Anniversary of Katherine Lee Bates 1895 poem, "America the Beautiful." To learn more about the exhibit visit: http://www.paintersandweavers.blogspot.com/


This exhibit includes a weaving by Art Department Chair, Gretchen Romey-Tanzer titled, "Amber Waves." To learn more about Ms. Tanzer's work visit her website: http://tanzersfiberworks.com/

The show will travel to the Cahoon Museum of American Art in Cotuit, in November 16-December 31, 2010; and to the Cape Cod Museum of Art, in Dennis, September 24-December 11, 2011

CCA in the Community: Motorcycle trip to aid homeless

"America the beautiful," read the July 2nd article in the Cape Cod Times.


"Lawrence Brown will take to the road this month to help out the homeless. Brown, a teacher at Cape Cod Academy, will travel halfway across the country on his motorcycle. His journey will last two weeks and stretch about 2,200 miles. Brown said all the money he raises will go directly to the homeless support programs at the Cape Cod Council of Churches."

CCA in the Global Community: Dominican Republic Orphanage Outreach

On Saturday, June 19th fifteen Cape Cod Academy upper school students and three faculty members traveled to the Dominican Republic for a week of service. The school group will be living and volunteering at an institution called Orphanage Outreach. Orphanage Outreach provides opportunities to orphaned, abandoned and disadvantaged children by way of health clinics, school and sport programs. Throughout the school year CCA students have held fundraisers such as bake sales and a raffle, as well as collecting various wish list items in order to support the orphanage.

CCA in the News: Cape Cod Academy grads reflect on 15,197 hours

"OSTERVILLE — The 45 Cape Cod Academy students who graduated yesterday were born in the 1990s.

 That means 11 school staff were already collecting paychecks there before the students collecting diplomas yesterday took their first breath, remarked Bradford Garrity, the faculty member selected to give the graduation speech under the white tent in the green Osterville campus."
