  • Immunizations

    The State of Massachusetts requires up to date immunization records for entrance into Kindergarten and the 7th grade.

  • Physicals

    All students are required to have an annual physical examination in grades K - 12.

  • Daily Medications

    The School Nurse can not dispense any prescription or non-prescription (over the counter medications such as Tylenol or Advil, etc.) without written authorization from the physician as well as signed parental permission.

  • Yearly Screening

    During Kindergarten through Grade 5 - yearly vision and hearing screening will be done in the fall.

  • Record Keeping

    All students will have a current health record on file in the Health Office.

  • Consultation

    At times the School Nurse may need to refer the student to other community health providers. This will be done in co-operation with the student's parent / guardian, physician and advisor.
  • Case Management

    The School Nurse will work in close collaboration with the student, parent / guardian, teacher and physician while managing a student's chronic illness while in the school setting. (ie: allergic reactions, asthma, diabetes, depression, etc.)
