Cape Cod Academy is pleased to announce that CCA students have recently been selected to participate in music festivals in the greater community.
All Cape Music Festival
Cape & Islands Music Educator's Association, committed to providing local music students with the best quality music education possible, sponsors the All Cape Music Festival each year. The following CCA upper school students were accepted into the All Cape Music Festival:
Orchestra: Victoria Tynan - 1st Violin, 1st chair. This is a high honor, making Victoria the Concert Mistress, the highest honor in the orchestra.
Treble Chorus: Crystal Liu - Soprano
Mixed Chorus: Chuyi Anita Luo - Soprano, Jacky Luo - Bass, Henry Hao - Bass, Roy Zhang - Bass
The students auditioned in November in order to be accepted into the festival, which occurs January 31 – February 2, 2019 at Barnstable High School. Once accepted, they are required to prepare between three and six challenging pieces with their music teachers.
Southeast District Senior High Music Festival
Three CCA students successfully auditioned for the Massachusetts Music Educators’ Southeastern District Senior High Music Festival. The CCA students will join other high-achieving students in a performance at the festival, which occurs January 11-12, 2019 at Canton High School. CCA students who will be performing are:
Choir: Chuyi Anita Luo - Soprano
Orchestra: Victoria Tynan - Violin
Choir: Zhongheng Roy Zhang - Bass
Anita and Victoria have also been given all-state recommendations, which means they will participate in another audition process to try-out for the Massachusetts Music Educators’ All-State Music Festival.

Southeast District Junior High Music Festival
One CCA middle school student, Ursula Budd, was accepted into the Southeast District Junior High Music Festival. She will play the flute in the band. This festival occurs March 8-9, 2019 at Attleboro High School.

2019 NAFME All-Eastern Honors Treble Chorus
The NAFME All-Eastern Honors Ensembles, consisting of a concert band, symphony orchestra, mixed chorus, treble chorus, and jazz ensemble, are organized by members of The National Association for Music Education.
More than 780 of the most musically talented high school students in the Eastern region of the United States (as far west as Pennsylvania, as far north as Maine, and as far south as Maryland) have been selected to perform in the 2019 NAFME All-Eastern Honors Ensembles. Selected to perform in the All-Eastern Honors from the Cape Cod Academy Chorale was CCA student, soprano Chuyi Luo.
With assistance from her music teacher, Sarah Fachada, this exceptional student will prepare remarkably challenging music that she will perform under the leadership of a prominent conductor in this biennial event. Students will spend three days rehearsing with their conductor during the Eastern Division Conference of The National Association for Music Education in preparation for performances on April 7, 2019 in the Spirit of Pittsburgh Ballroom at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, Pittsburgh, PA.

Congratulations to these talented music students!
