The State of Massachusetts requires up to date immunization records for entrance into Kindergarten and the 7th grade.
Nurse can not dispense any prescription or non-prescription (over the
counter medications such as Tylenol or Advil, etc.) without written
authorization from the physician as well as signed parental permission.
the School Nurse may need to refer the student to other community
health providers. This will be done in co-operation with the student's
parent / guardian, physician and advisor.
Nurse will work in close collaboration with the student, parent /
guardian, teacher and physician while managing a student's chronic
illness while in the school setting. (ie: allergic reactions, asthma,
diabetes, depression, etc.)
