Jan Rapp joined the art department in 1995 and initiated the Ceramics program at our school. She teaches in lower and upper school and her major focus is middle school Art and upper school Ceramics. Before teaching she was a professional in the field of Graphic Design and Illustration. Houghton Mifflin, Little Brown and Dr. Robert Ballard of WHOI are a few of the names that were on her client list. Jan also worked as a staff cartographer and designer for Interdisciplinary Environmental Planners where she headed the department for five years. Jan started and worked at Art Waves; a gallery, framehouse and art supply store in the mid-Cape area. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Medical Illustration from the Cleveland Institute of Art and Case Western Reserve Medical School.

Jan remarks, "Ceramics and graphics are my major forms of artistic expression and I maintain a studio at 239 Main Street, Hyannis where I actively pursue this work. I am an avid sailor/racer, gardener, beekeeper and bicyclist. I have always been active in my community where I have served as president of the Barnstable County Beekeepers and president of the Cotuit Library Association."
