Fractured Fairy Tales Theater Fun with Ed O'Toole
    time: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
    grades: 3rd - 6th

During this two week camp students will write, direct and perform their own version of at least one (possibly more) classic fairy tales.

By staging a parody, which we hope will be humorous at least part of the time, students will learn about mainstays of literature from clichés and tropes to stereotypes and archetypes.

They will also learn about the importance of vivid writing, plot structure, narration and dialogue, and scripting a play for older and younger audiences at once.
(A chase scene will also be included.)

The two goals of the class are to serve as an enjoyable introduction to many aspects of theatre and writing and to be fun for all involved.

The class will culminate in a performance of the students’ collaboration open to all interested parties and aimed specifically at the many people of all ages who have an ear for music, an eye for talent, and a nose for humor.
