Music & Voice

Music
The innate ability to make music through singing, instrument playing, movement and rhythmic activities are emphasized in each student from kindergarten through grade 12. Music listening, analysis, history, composition, group collaboration, practice and performance are key elements in daily musical activities.

General Music
At CCA, general music classes in kindergarten through grade 8 provide a wide scope of musical experiences and are designed to include the interests of beginning music students as well as to enhance and broaden the musical knowledge and understanding of students who have had years of private vocal and performing group experience.

Vocal Music
Vocal music is emphasized in both general music classes K-8 and in various school choral groups. Breath support, tonal production, repertoire from many eras and genres and performance skills are covered. Lower School Chorus, Middle School singing groups and CCA Chorale are three choral opportunities offered to CCA students at various grade levels. Students in Upper School Chorale also have small group choral sectionals, which highlight vocal technique and learning of new repertoire.
Cape Cod Academy is one of the only independent, co-educational, college preparatory schools serving students from kindergarten to grade 12 on Cape Cod.
