Ways to Give

Over the years, Cape Cod Academy has been funded with generous gifts of time, talent, and financial support. There are many ways that you can also support the school — from writing a check to planning your legacy.

Gifts of all sizes are important and valued.  Contributions may be made through current gifts or planned gifts.  Planned giving provides a way for a donor to provide for family members while also remembering Cape Cod Academy.

Below is an explanation of the ways you can give to Cape Cod Academy.

Ways to Give

Cash Gifts
Cash gifts to Cape Cod Academy can be made outright by writing a check to Cape Cod Academy, 50 Osterville-West Barnstable Road, Osterville, MA 02655.

Credit Cards
Using our secure online server is the fastest and easiest way to make a gift to CCA. Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover cards are accepted. To make a payment by phone, please call the Advancement Office at 508-428-5400.

Electronic Funds Transfer
Donations can be made through a wire transfer, both within the US and by international families. The information needed for wiring can be obtained by contacting CCA’s business office at businessoffice@capecodacademy.org

Gifts-in-Kind
Gifts-in-kind are non-cash donations of materials or long-lived assets that support and serve the school. Such gifts may include equipment, software, furniture, or works of art.

Matching Gifts
Many corporations offer programs that match gifts to schools and other not-for-profit institutions. Check with your employer to see if your company participates, and if so, you could match (or double) your charitable contribution to CCA.

Gifts of Stock/Appreciated Securities
Gifts of appreciated securities are an excellent way to make a gift to our school. Capital gains taxes are reduced or eliminated when you give securities that have increased in value and have been held for more than one year and a day.

Pledges
Pledges to the Annual Fund may be fulfilled in one payment or multiple payments by the conclusion of our fiscal year on June 30.

Planned Giving

What are the benefits of making a bequest?
  1. You leave a lasting legacy to be remembered
  2. You lessen the burden of taxes on your family
  3. You may receive estate tax savings
Planned gifts provide many opportunities to support CCA through estate plans. These could include bequests, charitable gift annuities, charitable lead trusts, life insurance, personal property, real estate, retirement plans, and others. Examples include:

Gifts of Real Estate
Donating appreciated real estate, such as a home, vacation property, undeveloped land, farmland, or commercial property can make a great gift to our organization.

Gifts of Retirement Assets
Donating part or all of your unused retirement assets, such as a gift from your IRA, 401(k), 403(b), pension, or other tax-deferred plan is an excellent way to make a gift to CCA.

Gifts of Life Insurance
A gift of your life insurance policy is another way to make a donation. If you have a life insurance policy that has outlasted its original purpose, consider making it a donation.

Please consult with your tax/financial advisor as you consider your donation. If you have questions, please contact Hellie Swartwood, Director of Advancement, at 508-428-5400 or hswartwood@capecodacademy.org. Thank you for your generosity!
