Middle School

Academic Program

Middle School students begin to take charge of their academic path.

We prioritize a middle school experience that allows for age-appropriate programs and experiences in tandem with the life of the larger K-12 school. Middle school students have the opportunity to play on competitive athletic teams, perform in dramatic productions, jazz, and string ensembles, to direct student government meetings, facilitate clubs, and lead community service activities.

Middle school students are at the age where the natural tendency is to focus on the self, which could appear to be in conflict with considering the needs of others. By leveraging our pillars of scholarship, integrity, compassion and respect, we guide our students in learning to think beyond themselves.

  • Athletics

All students (6-12) are encouraged to participate in up to three team sports per year. We have significant offerings for all levels of experience, from the beginner to the most advanced athletes.
  • Learning Support

Faculty are available to our middle school students for academic and learning support. They can provide extra help to their students during and after the school day. Parents are encouraged to contact Amy Powers, Learning Specialist, directly (apowers@capecodacademy.org) if concerned about your child or seek extra help.

For additional and specialized individual support, you can speak with Mrs. Powers to learn about CCA's specialized learning support programs. Tutors are available on campus to provide private tutoring during or after school at a mutually agreed upon time.
  • Seminars

Seminars are offered during each trimester and provide an opportunity for students to expand their learning beyond the daily class curriculum. Seminars offer additional academic enrichment and variety in learning where students choose their interests or paths.
  • Visual and Performing Arts

Visual art focuses on a wide variety of media. Students can also participate in the performing arts through music ensembles, such as chorus, band, strings, or a theater production.
