The middle school English curriculum helps students become thoughtful readers and effective writers as it prepares them for literature courses in the upper school and guides them toward mastery of the English language.
Scott earned his BA at the University of Maryland and his MA at St. John's College. He has been teaching for 22 years at CCA and is currently the CCA Humanities Chair. Mr. Andrews teaches 6th grade World Culture, 11th grade American Literature, and 12th grade Contemporary Issues. He began teaching while living in Japan, then transitioned to secondary education upon his return by teaching at Emerson Preparatory School in Washington, D.C. for several years. He was hired by Cape Cod Academy and moved here in 1996. In addition to having led a variety of clubs and activities, Scott coached soccer for thirteen seasons and golf for five. His wife is a physical therapist and their son attends CCA's middle school. They live in Centerville with their dog and many, many books.
