Yearbook
Why work on the yearbook? Staffers say it is gratifying to see it all come together at the end, a complete composite of the school year's memories, and to know that they've each created a part of it.
Their work includes taking photos using digital and film cameras, creating layouts electronically, writing text, organizing materials and timelines, and managing yearbook funds -- not to mention the "people skills" involved in cooperating, negotiating, and recruiting to get the work done.
We look forward to this year's edition!
The yearbook staff is organized into eight editorial boards and an editor-in-chief who, with the yearbook advisor, oversees the project. Each board has an editor who organizes the pages into assignments and edits them first when they are completed. When the pages are done and edited, they are sent to the publisher electronically on a deadline schedule established at the beginning of the year.
Yearbook staff positions are open to students in grades 7 to 12. The staff meets one day per week during the lunch period and works during free periods during and after school to complete their projects. For more information, contact
Erni Johnson, yearbook advisor.
Participating on the yearbook staff is among the club opportunities open to CCA middle and upper school students, most of which meet during the lunch period.
