Minimum Qualifications

- First Aid and CPR Certifications
- Lifeguard Certification- includes pool and open water
- Desire and ability to work with children and adults in a busy camp setting
- Ability in supervising campers
- Ability to accept supervision and guidance
- Good character, integrity and adaptability
- Enthusiasm, patience, self-control and sense of humor
- Minimum 16 years of age
- Responsible to: Director
General Responsibilities
Provide physical and emotional safety, enjoyment, and well-being for all campers with whom you come into contact; lead by example in respecting differences among campers and staff; and carry out in a professional manner all responsibilities associated with providing superior primary oversight for campers in the pool.
Specific Responsibilities
- Keeping campers safe
- Scanning pool and preventing misuse of “pool rules”
- Administering first aid when needed
- Test pool water three times daily
- Clean skimmers daily
- Scrub pool daily
- Vacuum the pool two times a week (Monday and Thursdays)
- Pick up pool deck at the end of the day
- Informing camp director of any needed equipment
- Ability to communicate and work with other staff and provide necessary instruction
- to campers
- Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other
- hazards related to activities
