Minimum Qualifications
  • First Aid and CPR Certifications
  • Lifeguard Certification- includes pool and open water
  • Desire and ability to work with children and adults in a busy camp setting
  • Ability in supervising campers
  • Ability to accept supervision and guidance
  • Good character, integrity and adaptability
  • Enthusiasm, patience, self-control and sense of humor
  • Minimum 16 years of age
  • Responsible to: Director
General Responsibilities
Provide physical and emotional safety, enjoyment, and well-being for all campers with whom you come into contact; lead by example in respecting differences among campers and staff; and carry out in a professional manner all responsibilities associated with providing superior primary oversight for campers in the pool.

Specific Responsibilities
  • Keeping campers safe
  • Scanning pool and preventing misuse of “pool rules”
  • Administering first aid when needed
  • Test pool water three times daily
  • Clean skimmers daily
  • Scrub pool daily
  • Vacuum the pool two times a week (Monday and Thursdays)
  • Pick up pool deck at the end of the day
  • Informing camp director of any needed equipment
  • Ability to communicate and work with other staff and provide necessary instruction
  • to campers
  • Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other
  • hazards related to activities
