Cape Cod Academy’s Director of College Counseling Appointed to the Princeton Review National College Counselor Advisory Board

Meghan Farley, Cape Cod Academy’s Director of College Counseling, has once again been appointed to the Princeton Review National College Counselor Advisory Board. This is Ms. Farley’s 11th year serving on the Advisory Board. The Princeton Review selects only 25 high school college counselors from private and public high schools all across the country each year to serve a one-year term. As part of the Advisory Board, Ms. Farley, a Sandwich, MA resident, provides feedback and insight on college counseling matters, college admissions, and other current events. She has also presented at various professional development conferences across the country.

This year, under Ms. Farley’s guidance, the Cape Cod Academy Class of 2023 committed to a variety of exceptional colleges and universities for next year. The school’s senior class of 18 students applied to 98 different colleges and submitted 146 applications. This class will be attending colleges in MA, VT, NY, FL, TX, VA, SC, CT, CA and TN. Fifty percent of the class were accepted and committed to their first choice in December.

In this class, there were students admitted to colleges with sub-20% acceptance rates (very competitive). Students were accepted to schools with special programs that are recognized as top programs in the nation, such as The Newhouse School for Journalism and Communications at Syracuse University (ranked in the top ten in the country for this program). One student is heading to Rosen School at the University of Central Florida, the number one program in the country for his major in hospitality management. Cape Cod Academy students received school-specific scholarships, as well as full scholarships to both Duke University and to The University of Southern California. The Class of 2023 is headed off to study sports management, business, communications, criminal justice, education, journalism, psychology, and hospitality.
